Our story begins in 1945, in the wake of the typical craftsmanship of the Strona Valley and of the villages that overlook the eastern shore of the Lake Orta. Bisetti, a company established in this region, combines skillful local artisan tradition with the most modern machinery and equipment to ensure quality standards that the market the new millennium requires. Besides being used for making cabinets, doors, and shelves, wood is commonly used for the preparation of food in items like cutting boards, tableware, and utensils. The reason behind this success can be found in the abundance of wood on Italian soil. Bisetti offers a wide range of wood products including beech wood, walnut, fir wood, and olive wood.

Care of Your Cutting Board

To properly care for your cutting board, you will need food-grade mineral oil and board cream, such as Boos block board cream.

The Wash: Wash your cutting board with water (soap is fine too), including the underside and edges, removing anything that's stuck to it with a lint-free rag. Then, wipe down the board and let it dry thoroughly overnight, standing it on edge so that both large faces are facing out.

The Oil: The next morning, use your hands to apply a generous layer of mineral oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any groove, grip, or handle. Let the oil soak into the board for at least three hours, leaving it on its edge to dry.

The Cream: After the oil has had enough time to soak into the grains, apply the cream directly to the wood and spread it over the entire board, making sure to get in every nook and cranny. Let it sit overnight.

The Clean: In the morning, use your lint-free microfiber cloth to rub the board in circular motions. The wood will get glassy and beautiful, and you've created a successful barrier.
